Formed in 2010, PEU (Pohjois-Euroopan suurimmat) is a two-piece unit from Espoo, Finland. Lassi Jahnsson and Teemu Keisteri specialise in crafting a special kind of Italo disco with an avant-garde touch and bring a particular Finnish sensibility to it. The warm, nostalgic synth pads counter a vocal approach ranging from cheeky to elegiac, often simultaneously. It’s serious while not being all that serious. This year, they also released their sophomore release PEU 2 on Elossa Records.
