Art Installations: Luminous Journey

Kreenholm
Joala 21

Meeting point at the Rapid entrance gate

What often motivates people to act is the past success — in case of Narva, it is the memory of the town as a historically important place. The idea of installation is to express the message by using both, materials of the past and the ephemeral components inspiring the thoughts and dreams on the future.
We encourage to notice life in something what is perceived to be finished or dead. To observe and to listen carefully, to follow the path through something not anymore existing into something newly emerging. To highlight the potential, to grow the intrigue of what’s next. Noticing the generative death, giving birth to a new life.

Authors and implementers of the idea:
Veera Gonchugova, alumni of the Interior Architecture department, EAA
Karl Johanson, alumni of the Fine Arts Installation and Sculpture department, EAA

Motion guides: Minna-Triin Kohv, Age Linkmann
Production: Videal
The journey is a 60 min walk through the Kreenholm premises, following the light installations. Warm outdoor clothing is advised.

To attend the Luminous Journey, pre-registration is required.

Free with festival pass and single day ticket, €5 (in cash) for separate ticket

Climate Strike action at Narva Venice

This is a call to everyone! Let’s meet in Venice of Narva as London’s dub-punks Asian Dub Foundation (ADF) and Narva’s own Lime&Salt are calling all like-minded souls to get involved and spread the word about the planet’s emergency of the climate change!

ADF have provided a backing for the timely warnings of Greta Thunberg and Extinction Rebellion. But in “Venice” they will be playing a very special instrumental set that features a track they have only ever played twice entitled “Kursk”, nodding to history of the region and reflecting to the damage caused by the military industrial complex to our world.

Music is communication!

Welcome speech by Vladimir Naumov, the Founder of Uus Sild and People’s Parks

Venice of Narva is located at the end of Kreenholm Island, next to the Narva Reservoir, where rows of boat-sheds built along canals have turned into a charming post-rural / semi-maritime community demonstrating the eclecticism of vernacular DIY architecture and lifestyle. During the Soviet Union it used to be the biggest boating cooperative of its kind.
