Station Narva festivali esinejate hulka lisandus Briti elektroonilise muusika legend James Lavelle (UNKLE)

James Lavelle of UNKLE and Mo’Wax will join Acid Arab and Deki Alem at the Station Narva festival in Estonia’s easternmost city of Narva on the 8th of September.

Taking place from the 7th to the 10th of September, the 6th edition of Station Narva presents music from near and far and invites to explore the hidden gems of post-industrial Ida-Viru County. From ultra-modern alternative RnB to the 21st Century takes on ska and grunge, and a melange of left-field hip-hop, techno and Arabic pop – the line-up at Vaba Lava Narva Blackbox on the 8th and 9th of September unites the heritage and future fusions of dance music from around the world.

The festival’s newest line-up addition, DJ James Lavelle has been at the forefront of global club culture as a highly influential tastemaker and curator for the past 30 years. The co-founder of the revered left-field hip-hop label Mo’ Wax made his name with DJ Shadow under the moniker UNKLE, featuring collaborations with Richard Ashcroft, Mike D, Thom Yorke and Ian Brown. Besides legendary residencies in London, Lavelle has played in all inhabited continents and was one of the first DJs to play in China and Eastern Europe. He has contributed the soundtrack for Virgil Abloh’s final Off-White show at Paris Fashion Week, curated the Meltdown Festival line-up in 2014 and a series of art exhibitions, most notably, Daydreaming With Stanley Kubrick at Somerset House in 2016. Lavelle has scored several soundtracks, including for Danny Boyle’s anthology series Trust (2018). His own unique artistic journey was captured in Matthew Jones’s documentary The Man From Mo’ Wax (2018).

James Lavelle will join the line-up of previously announced French electronic dance music crew Acid Arab, Swedish hip-hop-meets-grunge sensation Deki Alem, Ukrainian pop star Ivan Dorn and Dutch ska-rock band Bazzoookas as well as Estonian RnB and pop acts YASMYN, manna and IVI.
