Jimi Tenor has always been something of a Renaissance man. On leaving his Finnish homeland for New York in the early 1990s, and later as he travelled through Europe, he discovered what he calls ikigai, his great joy in life: to record and produce music in DIY mode with the most rudimentary of means, spontaneously and intuitively. On the other hand, this charming oddball is like the musical equivalent of Andy Warhol for his ability to combine seemingly spontaneous silliness and shameless glam.

In more than 30 years of making music, Tenor has remained true to his ideal, whether as a solo artist on his early electronic albums or in the widely diverse collaborations and constellations that followed (with the likes of Tony Allen, Kabu Kabu, Abdissa Assefa).

Jimi Tenor’s latest album “Multiversum” and book “Omniverse” were released via Hamburg label Bureau B/Tapete Records in May 2022. Based on drum machine beats and synthesizer loops, “Multiversum” is a declaration of love for the DIY spirit, somewhere between bedroom jazz and deviant techno. At Station Narva, he’ll perform a mix of 90s and most current songs as well as some deep cuts and unreleased stuff, using drum machines, old synths, sax and his own voicebox.
