Pelkkä Poutanen FI
Pelkkä Poutanen is a musician and a composer who has been described by music tastemakers as an earthquake and big bang. She ees genres as tools to experiment within any realm – from classical and roots music to art pop, noise and vocal acrobatics. She handles vocal techniques from Scandinavian and Finno-Ugrian trad to throat singing and has lately delved into the art of improvisation.
Her solo debut album Pyhä veri vuotaa (Eclipse Music, 2022) was nominated for Teosto-award, one of the biggest art prizes in Scandinavia as well as for Ethno Emma –award that mesmerized critics with its concept of the sacred, including showing how it can turn into something quite absurd.
