Raul Saaremets EE

A vital presence in Estonia’s weird and wonderful underground for over 30 years, Raul Saaremets has built up a far-reaching musical legacy. He’s the co-founder of Tallinn’s notorious Mutant Disco nights, leftfield music festivals Saund and Mägede Hääl as well as adventurous record labels Porridge Bullet, Umblu and Memme Vaev. Raul hosts tastemaker shows on Estonian Public Broadcasting channel Raadio 2, plays drums in late, great John Peel’s favourite avant-pop situationist band Röövel Ööbik and produces brilliantly skewed house music under the moniker of Ajukaja, often in collaboration with kindred spirits like Mart Avi who will be his partner in crime also at Station Narva.
