Daddy G (Massive Attack) DJ set UK

Bristolian Grant Marshall, a.k.a Daddy G, is one of the founders of the blend between Hip Hop and electronica that became known globally as Trip Hop, a soundtrack to many lives throughout the 1990s and beyond. In 1982 he formed a duo that morphed first into the ‘The Wild Bunch sound system and then into Massive Attack – a group that became by their debut album Blue Lines (1991) with Daddy G on vocals, guitar, keyboards and as a producer, a worldwide cultural phenomenon.

Daddy G’s instantly recognisable, deep and rich voice is an invaluable layer in the fabric of Massive Attack’s sound. Throughout his career he has also been a hugely respected DJ who has always shone a light on multiple genres – from his roots in Reggae to Punk to US House, Hip Hop and beyond. His CV includes co-directing documentaries with Don Letts, producing his own DJ Kicks album and providing mixtapes for the likes of BBC 6 Music. His passion for underground talent and the raw connection to his audience remains strong – he is the same true blue music champion that he was 40 years ago. At Station Narva he’ll play b2b with Queen Bee.
