Getting There

Train times (departing from Tallinn)
That’s nice and all, but you’re coming from Tartu? Easy-peasy. Buses depart daily towards Narva from there, too. Here’s when:
And of course, getting to Narva by car is also possible via Jõhvi–Tartu–Valga/E264 and Tallinn–Narva/E20.
Getting around in Narva
Narva is very walkable.
This means most of the festival’s locations are situated within a 15-minute walk from each other. But if you still need wheels to get around, a taxi costs ~3,5 euros (don’t forget cash!). You can also use Bolt. Additionally, a special festival shuttle is in motion on Friday and Saturday. Find the timetable here.
If you’re staying in Narva-Jõesuu or Sillamäe, getting around is also simple. There are regular buses taking you back-and-forth between Narva–Narva-Jõesuu and Narva–Sillamäe. A taxi to Narva-Jõesuu (14 km) is ~10-15 euros. You can check the bus timetables here: Narva–Narva-Jõesuu, Narva–Sillamäe.
Doing There
To really “get stuck in” among the locals in the city, there’s a host of activities waiting for your curiosity.
- Sunset tour to Narva Venice — visit locals whose life revolves around a system of canals along the Narva reservoir, with lots of garages built around it for fishing, going to sauna and throwing parties
- Saturday morning breakfast in Narva style — organised by expats living in Narva
- Authentic Ukrainian lunch — organised by Narva Art Residence
- Photo walk around Narva with Boring Narva
- Opening of “B&W Gold” art exhibition
- Late summer art-party Narva Venice Annuale
- Guided tours at Kreenholm Manufacturing Company — “The history of the textile giant” and “An extreme tour of the Joala spinning factory in Kreenholm”
Find the full program here. Please note, some tours and activities are at an extra price.
Those activities are all part of the Station Narva official program. But if you’re willing to go the extra mile and explore your adventurous side, here’s a few more places you could visit. PS! You need a car for these activities.
- Narva “Maldives” — A blue lagoon with poisonous shale. Sounds scary but really it’s just an industrial facility of Eesti Energia. The pond is actively accessible — just make sure you don’t fall in.
- The Pühtitsa Dormition Convent (Kuremäe Convent) — The only functioning Russian Orthodox nunnery in Estonia established in 1891. PS! You need a head cover if you’re a woman.
- Authentic dachas in horticultural cooperatives — There’s a few dedicated areas in Narva, Narva-Jõesuu and Sillamäe that have tiny cottages neatly placed next to each other. These horticultural cooperatives host locals living in their dachas, who grow fresh produce and spend their summers in Eastern Estonia.
