Bert on Beats, margiiela and Meisterjaan amongst the new line-up additions for Station Narva festival

The music and city festival Station Narva is returning for its fifth consecutive year to the easternmost Estonian city Narva from 8th to 11th September. Estonian artists Bert on Beats, margiiela, Meisterjaan, SUVE, PTF1987 and IVI are announced as the new line-up additions to the festival’s music programme on 9th and 10th September.

Station Narva 2022 festival passes for 35 euros and day tickets for 20 euros are on sale at Piletilevi.

Veteran DJ and genre-bending producer Bert Prikenfeldt’s aka Bert on Beats’ performance will be a spectacular interaction between man and machine. His strictly analogue setup sets out to define the primal nature of techno and give a glimpse of what to expect from Bert’s upcoming album Seven.

Since shaking hands with major label Sony Music Baltic last year, young rapper margiiela has released a handful of successful singles, including the cypher-banger “Sucka Shit”. July saw the release of his debut EP “margiiela season”, to be followed soon by a full-length album.

Meisterjaan, the ultimate cyber-Ugrian trickster, uses tambourine, vocals, guitar, looper and live electronics to unleash throbbing ethno-techno, gory gabber, or even outsider-country to leave you both hypnotized and bamboozled.

SUVE is the new project of acclaimed musicians Jonas Kaarnamets and Kristjan Kallas, in which echoes of the past, from the Soviet Estonian easy listening to Japanese city pop and US yacht rock collide with millennial lo-fi indie, all covered with timeless bittersweet summer nostalgia

Roman Emelyanov aka Narva’s own bass-master PTF1987’ will deliver a dubstep and breakbeat-laden set whilst singer-songwriter IVI, also from Narva, will treat the audience with sultry R&B, deep pop and synthpop.

Previously announced Station Narva performers include Ukrainian electro-folk group Onuka, British acid jazz trio Red Snapper and Estonian legends—pop-rock ensemble Mahavok and hip-hop supergroup A-Rühm. The live programme takes place on the 9th and 10th of September in two historic buildings—the Narva Art Residency (NART) and the Kreenholm Management Building—and the courtyard between them. On both nights, the live programme will be followed by afterparties at the beloved riverside venue Art Club Ro-Ro.

Free daytime concerts and presentations of NART’s summer projects will also take place in the Kreenholm quarter and Gerasimov Park. The other programme elements are Business Day, BAZAR public discussions, the traditional Narva-style breakfast and the photo exhibition Voice Spaces.

Station Narva 2022 festival passes for 35 euros and music festival day tickets for 20 euros are on sale at Piletilevi. The festival pass is valid for all concerts on 9th and 10th September and Business Day on 9th September (pre-registration required). Afterparties at Art Club Ro-Ro can be accessed both with a festival pass and a separate 10-euro ticket.

Station Narva is organised by Shiftworks in cooperation with the Narva team. Partners are Narva Art Residency (NART), Narva Gate, Art Club Ro-Ro, OBJEKT multimedia centre, and BAZAR Discussion Day.
